Disinfecting used shoes and B Nelson Shoe Corp sanitization service

hey all,

very new to the forum here. I'm also considering purchasing used shoes for the first time. I have seen a few threads on disinfecting used shoes (although I couldn't find anything too definitive) so thought to ask again. For those of you who purchase used shoes, what is the preferred method without damaging the leather?

Additionally, as I live in NYC, I reached out to B Nelson's. The gentleman I spoke with mentioned that they have a "sanitization service" that uses UV light and takes a few days. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks

I do not recall anything about disinfecting shoes but that is the least of your worries. Shoes mould to the fit of the wearer and second hand ones will have done so to their original owner. The will be bad for you feet. forget the idea and stick to new.

Thanks GBR, will definitely consider that. Would they not eventually remold to match my feet?

No the leather and sub structure takes on a permanent form arising from the original resident foot. It does not adapt back to 'factory setting' and then change to yours.
