what are the best suits for under $200 - Page 2

This is a decent Polish brand:

$200 is around 630 PLN. I don't know if they'd ship to USA and how much would it cost, though.

With all fo the caveats from everyone else out of the way ...

Check out dappered.com - a site focused more on affordability.

Also, the J. Crew Factory Thompson suit is good for the price, which occasionally drops below $200 and is usually between $200 and $300.

Don't do international currently, but someone might proxy for you.

I bought a Linen jacket today, £39. Quite impressed with the fit and quality of construction considering the price. Won't need any alterations...

I'm not entirely sure but the seller I dealt with offered 14 days to return. So if I was wot more than I wished then I could send it back. I sent 1 out of 4 back and have some great suits. The seller also had like 28,000 rating so i felt safe dealing with it all

You can get an Austin Reed suit from the HSM eBay store for $99:  http://stores.ebay.com/Hart-Schaffner-Marx-Store

You are in Orlando - great place to shop around, try on suits, get your size, and compare inexpensive new suits (like at Mens Warehouse for $150 to $300 with Nordstroms and others)

Or, you could go with www.overstock.com which has new inexpensive suits starting at $76 and return privileges:

http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes/Suits/3414/cat.html?TID=TN:M:Suits

Men's warehouse has the following:

http://www.menswearhouse.com/mens-suits#fcids=xlevel_3_parentCatgroup_id_facet%253A%252212004_116443_116561_116563%2522,price_USD%253A%2528%257B150%2B200%257D%2B200%2529,price_USD%253A%2528%257B200%2B300%257D%2B300%2529||||sortby=1

And then there are the shoes . . . which can actually make you stand out much better in a new inexpensive suit - but with GREAT shoes (something both men and women know MORE about in looks):

I wouldn't say Orlando is a great place for a young sartorialist, but you have some options.

Check both Premium Outlets, Nordstrom Rack, and if you are feeling lucky a goodwill.

You can do some decent research and fit references at both Florida and Millenia mall.

Some elaborating would also be nice OP, would get better suggestions...

The first thing to you have to do when you buy a used suit off ebay, is to find a suit that fits you well and learn how to measure for suit dimensions:  Shoulder to shoulder, arm length, inseam etc. Then compare the jacket you want to buy, with the jacket you already own.  Do not go by size alone. People get things altered.

Personally, if I were to buy a suit on ebay I would look for an Oxxford suit.  Oxxford is one of the premier makers of suits.  Since people do not recognize the brand, it is undervalued  on ebay, and you can get a great deal.

You might first consider trying on different brand suits without any intention of buying.  Compare how they fit without alterations.  The better the fit the fewer alterations needed and the better the suit will look.  For me $200 means one thing:  waiting for Jos Bank to have an online sale on Signature or Signature Gold suits -- usually either on clearance or a one-day sale -- and buying the color/pattern you like.  This is generally $177 to $248.  Alterations will mean sleeves shortened, pants hemmed/cuffed, and possibly side taken in slightly on the jacket but these are very basic alterations and don't involve great expense (e.g. altering shoulders, back, lapels).
