Care to share any insight on that Cifonelli coat? How is it different from what you make or what others make? Thanks.
There is a bit of mystique to this Milanese buttonhole. JefferyD did an article for the Rake about this subject and tailors were reluctant to discuss the technique or share the methodology to making one. Honestly, it is a rarity. But all this talk about quality and buttonholes is like Seinfeld, The show about nothing!
Have been tempted to post pictures in this thread as one of my coat makers was at Cifonelli in Rome in the 50's and 60's with the original owners. I think that makes it a somewhat authentic Cifonelli, in technique if nothing else. Not many clients are requesting this silhouette but I always liked it.
