Please help me with my hair!

I am really frustrated with my hair I have dealt with it for years and now I would really like some help. I have really thick and straight hair. It dries and gets really poofy. I can't even style it with any kind of product because nothing holds it and then the product just builds up. My hair seems to look better if i don't wash it for a day or two because my hair starts to get in lockes, but at this point its greasy and I have to wash it. How can it get it to grow in lockes naturally without having to not wash it? Also how can I get my hair to grow naturally so it will be easy to style or get wavy or even not so straight? Please help me!

Unfortunately, that grease may just be your messiah. I typically go maybe two to three weeks without washing my hair.

Now that everyone's made the requisite expression of disgust, let me explain. That grease is what lets you style your hair. It makes your hair shinier and more manageable and there's not much you can do without your hair becoming the poofed up not-fro it is right now. Chances are you have hispanic hair, which everyone expects to be greasy anyway. Deal with it. Or shave your head (make sure you don't have any weird bumps or anything).

BTW: If your hair starts to smell, wash it. If you sweat after working out, wash it. If you get in a pool full of chlorine, wash it. Then put greaser in your hair to actually style it.

You can get chemical treatments to relax the hair, but I'm no expert on that. If your hair is getting overly greasy, use cornstarch. If you google, you should find an article about this. It's a great grease absorber for us who don't wash to often.

You could try any of the products in the Phyto dry hair range, they get many good reviews. http://www.phyto.fr/UK/products1/by_..._dry_hair.html

Thanks for the tip, but whats a greaser? Or example products of it?

When you wash it, do you towel dry it and put something in it while it's damp? Or do you let it dry completely and then try to do something with it? If I let my hair dry completely it won't do anything at all.

I have not tried it yet, but have read that Murray's pomade creates a buildup similar to what you are speaking of. The buildup is suppose to stay even after you wash it.

A picture would help. Even then, I wouldn't be able to give the best advice since I have to feel it, and check out your hair growth patterns, etc.

A good haircut with proper styling products have always tamed even the worst hair I've seen. Of course, in some extreme cases, their hair had to be cut really short.
