Visiting Okayama/Kojima - Good place to shop for Jeans?

Next week I'll be visiting Japan, passing through the area around Okayama. I was thinking of going to the towns in the area that are famous for denim production. Does anyone know from experience if it's worth a visit or if there particularly good deals in the local shops/factory outlets?

Here's a link to what I've seen so far..

Good place to buy Momotaro, Kapital, or other brands?

I wanted to re-up this thread since I'll be in Osaka.

Has anyone gone to Okayama? Wondering if I should make the trek.

If the jeans are cheaper, more variety, I would totally go. Maybe help out a couple of Sfer's too.

I've never been, and I asked a few people, including Jay of blueowl.us, about sending Jasper there to do a story about jeans, and the consensus was that all the jeans you could want to buy, you could get in Tokyo (and I imagine, Osaka as well, though i could be completely off).  It's apparently a very small place, and just industrial, rather than shopping oriented.

Cheers,

Fok.

As it happens, I'll probably have to visit Okayama sometime in the next year. I'll be doing work stuff so I guess the lack of 'fun options' isn't so bad, though a bit of a downer.

Thanks. I won't stop by then.

I'll be in Osaka for 4 days and have been planning my trip. Will of course do the touristy stuff but more excited about going to Sakai for knife sharpening and cold soba. Going to eat my way through Osaka. Just don't know where yet.

Any recs? Love all food.

I actually went to Kojima in May. It really isn't worth the trip as a shopper. Jeans Street is lame and a complete waste of time.

The Momotaro Factory tour can be interest and the Kapital store is amusing visit as its connected to their factory + is huge for a Kapital store.

If you're just looking to buy Osaka/Tokyo will be much better places.
