Here's an interview I just published with the editors of Free Darko.

I think you will like it.

Nice. They're really great guys. I remember reading their blog during the first few months a couple years ago (still have the original free darko tshirt). It was funny in the beginning when there were only about 5-10 people total who commented. Good guys and good blog. I used to read it religiously the first year it was around, but less so now. Themes and new entries started to repeat themselves and i slowly stopped reading. Still bought the book though. EVERY NBA FAN SHOULD OWN THIS BOOK FOR THEIR COFFEE TABLE.

Thesis: The "KG's season might be done entirely" line is a ruse, and is basically the same shit as the Paul Pierce "injury" that he "miraculously" returned from in game 1 of the Finals last year.

Discuss.

I think the magic might've lose to the bulls if they drew them or at least went 7 or a close 6). They'll beat the sixers in 5 easy though.

I'm posting in here just out of solidarity for this thread, and pure scorn for the 2009 thread.

I don't know what to think about the Magic. There are games when they look amazing, and games when they look really questionable. ESPN and the like tell me this is because they live and die by the three. I just haven't seen enough games.

Well, it's because the magic shoot a lot of 3s and allow/encourage other teams to follow suit. Their perimeter defense isn't that good so they sag off a lot, and also mostly always go under on pick and rolls. This opens up a lot of 3s for opposing teams and also their transition D isn't that great so they're oft out of position and give up 3s. However, most teams can't do this like the magic can where they have great shooters at 6 of the 8 players that actually hit the court and usually 4 at a time. Teams get sucked into playing the magic's style kinda like what the suns used to do. Also, the magic occasionally get DOMINATED on the glass as they really don't have anyone on the team who boxes out well. Howard is a great rebounder but still rarely boxes anyone out. Teams like the cavs, or even celtics without garnett who slow the pace, attack the glass hard, play good D, have plenty of random bigs to throw at howard (especially Big Z who can draw howard from the hoop with his shooting/passing ability), and with good penetrating guards really can give the magic fits.

That's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you. I wish I had the time this season to follow as many games as I used to, but I was doing good just to take in the bigger Lakers games and a few marquee matchups (plus the odd Sixers game).
