Wings + Horns - - - Fall / Winter 2013 - Page 12

I tried on the camel mac coat at Roden Gray. Felt like the medium was too tight in the chest, back, arms, etc. And the large was a bit too loose everywhere else. Thought the material was nice and the construction was good. Medium looked really awesome on, but was just too expensive for me at full retail and slightly uncomfortable up top. Nice piece, IMO.

Peacoat was nice too, but maybe a bit on the short side for my taste. I'll pick up either jacket on sale if they make it that far, which I doubt. Guy working there said the camel mac was their most popular piece.

Like bawlin said, I'm glad I tried it on because I'm lusting after it less and I'll save a grand.

Lol @ the people saying W+H prices are too high when it's selling out at retail.

Selling out has nothing to do with whether or not it is overpriced from our standpoint. If the market will bear it, it's priced correctly from W+H's standpoint.

Yup! There will always be people out there who will pay retail, because they can. This doesn't change the fact that from alot of customers point of view, the prices are high.

I've had my experiences with certain things from W+H (the same goes for a lot of different brands), where I've gotten jackets i've lusted after from F/W seasons at half off. Sat on them for a minute, and ended up being very happy with the purchase. Then I've actually jumped at other jackets for retail, and regretted not waiting 2 months immediately after trying it on. Most likely this comes from me not having a lot of money in the first place, so when I get a jacket I like at half price, and feel good about it. That usually leads me to think - paying for anything full retail is crazy. W+H is probably one of my favorite brands, but I cannot justify a lot of the items when they are retail as I use to in the beginning. But hey, I definitely understand why people jump at items, because chances are the nicer pieces aren't going to be around at 50% off. It's a risk I use to take, but don't anymore.

Eh I think we're just all used to W+H as a fledgling just as Common Projects used to be. Prices go up every year as their brand value goes up, I think a pair of Achilles goes for like 400-450 now depending on the retailer which I personally feel is ridiculous so I know how you guys feel but the market seems to dictate otherwise for this specific piece. Here's to hoping our wish list makes it to 50% off!

Yeah man thats how I see it. I wouldn't be surprised with each seasons lookbook coming out a half year- year prior, with the talks on what pieces are standout to people online, they use that to decide on price increase (ontop of manufacturing , etc..etc..) Not even that, but like you said with pieces selling out at retail, they know the market will bear it each season, and I personally would wear everything they put out if I could afford it. Anyway, here's to waiting till december-January to see what will end up on discount.

On a side note, does anyone know if they do tiger fleece/ large loop sweatpants every F/W? I didn't see any in the lookbooks for WH or any stockist, but in the past couple years they've had them.

The money young people have in Vancouver is staggering. Most of them don't work, which gives them plenty of time to spend it.

So true.

Especially if they work part-time and live at their parents.
Damn, so much disposable income!

Reigning champ has some tiger fleece sweatpants this season, and there's also the W+H X RC special edition ones out soon - comes in a grey multi-tone or this CRAZY multi-colored one...

Holy shit Rommel thanks for that! I saw a few photos the other day online, but had no idea who made those sweatpants. I'm definitely grabbing the multi-greys. The multi-colored is a bit too crazy, but the grey one is very nice. Thanks!

damnit, man...last thing I need is more hoodies

good news though, first one looks marginally similar to the large large loop I already have and the second one looks fruit loopy. I'm at a bit of a loss about how that one got off the designer's table

Looks like something that would have "PINK" written across the ass.

Sorry guys. I have a couple of questions hopefully somebody can help me with:

1) Is there any difference in fabric between the S/S and F/W chinos and 5-pockets? Are the S/S are lighter material? Or is it all the same, just different colour ways.

2) Is "Ink" as black as it appears online? Or more Navy in person?
