It's getting way overpriced.

Even on sale sometimes I don't bother.

The old designer went to the Hudson Bay Company.

I think there are some things they do really well - the hi-top sneakers, raw denim, large-loop hoodies, and chinos - and the higher production volumes and wider distribution make stuff easier to find on sale. Retail prices are getting pretty ridiculous with no noticeable increase in quality, though, and I'd probably hold out for markdowns in the 50% range before pulling the trigger on most things.

I'm not entirely sure who the Hudson Bay Company is, but it sounds like it's either a bunch of colonial fur trappers or a brand you'd find at JC Penney.

ha, you're not far off. HBC is the oldest corporation in North America, now mostly known for their mediocre Canadian department stores. had no idea they snagged Brian Mendoza.

^ Seriously

At least HBC's The Bay is trying to reinvent themselves, their downtown showroom/buys are ok.

As long as the Bay continues to have crazy sales on Ralph Lauren, they're OK in my books.

I thought after Mendoza left, there was another guy and someone recently took over? (I could be completely wrong about that)

Go to the one near Eaton's Center, I think that's their flagship. It also has something called "The Room" which carries high end women's fashion brands (saw some random jackets going upwards of like 10k..lol). Unusual considering their buys for other locations.
