The darker the pants and the lighter the shoes, the less likely you are to look like a mall cop. If you are wearing a blue blazer, khaki pants and black shoes, you might as well wear a plastic badge as a pocket square.

Those medium grey trousers will do the trick. Dial in the fit on your jacket and trousers to remove any/all mall cop connotations.

I gotta disagree with this too. It's such a blanket statement that it simply can't hold up to scrutiny. Navy blazer, khakis, and yes, even black shoes, can look good. I've seen it done. It's all about fit, accessories, and detailing.

WIWT with my dark navy blazer:

I'm hoping the pink shirt and burgundy cap toes comes through for you. I'm a lifetime navy and grey man, and will be until the day I die. So flexible, and yet so classy, too. I hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

What is every's thought of pairing slim-fitting navy blazer with slim black watch pants for casual Friday in the office?

Seems more appropriate for a Christmas party...to me anyway. However, given what is worn in most offices casually these days, why not go ahead if you like the combo?

I would never wear black trousers with a navy blazer, even in brilliant sunlight. In the dark you'd look like you are wearing a strange fitting suit. Stick with grey, khaki, cream and white, maybe even a very pale blue.
