How can I stop sweating AFTER my workout

I sweat when I go to the gym. I sweat even more when I actually work out. Not to mention when I do cardio. This has been posing more and more of a problem when I have to run back to the office based on time crunch. I end up in the elevator in my suit dripping like I just ran a marathon. Not a good look for me.

Something is telling me that there is a body wash product which is designed to try and limit this. Anyone have any suggestions?

Currently the only solution is to carry an extra handkerchief, or sit in the locker room for about 15 minutes post shower to make sure all perspiration has stopped.

HELP?

There are chemicals that will shut off your sweat glands, but they're intended to be used only in small areas like underarms - I don't think you'd want to cover your whole body in them. Are you taking a very cold shower? To some extent there's no quick fix: if exercise didn't activate your sympathetic nervous system, it wouldn't be worth doing.

Drink less water.

That is, if your desire to shut off perspiration outweighs health concerns.

No, I am not discussing drastic measures like that, and trust me as an athlete I have had this problem for a while, I am referring to something I thought I read here one time about a "cooling" body wash or something.

And yes, I know about the anti-persperants you are talking about. I used them when I was in high school. I forget the name but I think they contained enough aluminum to put siding on a house.

Work out early in the morning or evening instead.

Why not just take a cool down period of time into account when working out?

Maybe some stretching for 10 minutes afterwords would help you cool down and still be beneficial.

I have the same issue, I work out after work. There is nothing you can do other than cool down your core temperature like take a cold shower for about 20 minutes.

I have the same problem and apply the same solution as you. Sit down after the shower for 15 min and cool down

I jump in the indoor pool at our club, or for extreme cooling, we have an immersion pool, kept at 55'

Funny, this is the first thing I thought of, too.

The problem with the wait 10 minutes strategy, while I know it is the best option, is that when I finish my workout and have 52 e-mails waiting for me, I sometimes need to get right back in the game. I work out early am because otherwise I never have the time!

Oh well, it was worth a shot. At least now when I see a well dressed sweaty man in the elevator in the morning I can ask him if farmers wear brown to work out!

I actually already do this, trust me, even my stretching is strenuous!

I would just deal with it man. Look on the bright side, it is better to sweat and rid yourself of toxins.

i read you can run cold water over pulse points (where blood is close to the surface of your skin, e.g. wrists) for a few minutes. i have no idea if it actually works, but can't hurt to try.
