Tricep issue with Bespoke Suit- Arms are too big

Hello,

Let me start off by saying I have learned a lot from this forum in regards to bespoke suits and fashion in general and I thank you in advance for your assistance

Issue: I am getting a bespoke suit for my wedding reception and went for an initial fitting today ( just general measurements). I am pretty muscular with a 40" chest and a 32" waist with broad shoulders. My issue is the TRICEP. The tailor informed me that the narrow sleeve on my arm will "show some muscle" because my tricep is large. He said either we can extend the shoulder pad, which I think will make me look even broader, or just leave it and have a little muscle protruding . Is there a fix for this issue? Perhaps something to do with shoulder expression?

Thanks in advance

Your tailor is the one to advise you no one here knows your physique nor the cut of the garment. If he is a genuine bespoke tailor and not someone welling MTM then he should be able to make those aspirations you describe to him.

Thanks for the feedback. The tailor is well known in San Francisco and comes recommended.

you were not at a fitting. that was just the measuring session. a fitting is when the suit is partly done.
if he is a "custom" tailor he should be able to make a looser fitting sleeve.

if this is a made to measure, then he may not be able to have them cut a looser sleeve.
the made to measure style you picked, may only come with a narrow sleeve.
did he measure your tricep?

Do you also have a 14" drop and massive thighs?

Thanks "a tailor". Yes, it was just an initial measurement session. The actual tailor will meet with me this Friday. I think my triceps extend out after my shoulder line causing a bump on most blazers. I'll ask for more room around the tricep even though I wanted narrower sleeves. I'm sure the tailor can assist me with the issue. It's a bespoke suit not MTM.
Thanks again

honestly, if your tailor can't handle this issue, you should be looking for a new tailor.
