Just a heads up. I noticed today that I had managed to scratch the strap of my left shoe. The culprit? The gold buckle of my Mortimer-style shoe itself. On the inside of the buckle is a metal flange left over (presumably) from the mold the buckle came out of. As I drew the strap through the buckle to tighten it, this flange ended up (very slightly) scratching my leather. Nothing a little neutral polish won't fix, but it could have been worse if I didn't notice it. No real fix I can determine other than being careful buckling and not using the buckle to apply pressure as the strap is pulled through. M#4
