What a beautiful color. Might have to use it for my next MTO!

My first post, I wanted to share some pics of such great shoes. Picked up these U cap Oxford Suede brogues at the London shop a few weeks ago, "Medina" in Bitter Chocolate suede. Fantastically comfortable on first wear, and like a lot of the J Fitzpatrick range, just enough difference to the usual to be noticed.

Wanted to wait for pictures to describe how great a customer service job Justin did with this mix-up, but I am taking off for Russia and haven't had time to snap them yet.

Justin e-mailed me a day or two after the order to let me know there had been a problem with the front-end of his website not matching his inventory, such that the last pair of Tony IIs in the size and colour I wanted had already been sold even though the website was displaying one left. He asked me if there was anything he could do to make up for the disappointment. I mentioned that I had my eye on a pair of button boots, but due to the Canadian dollar and recently switching careers I wasn't in a great position to pay full price. I asked if he could maybe give me a heads' up a day or two before whenever they went on sale and give me a chance to snap up my size before they disappeared.

He offered to sell a pair to me at the same discount as I would have received on the Tony IIs. I think selling non-sale boots at a sale price to a brand new customer simply because of an error in your system is above and beyond. Even if the original 'mistake' was on his end, he took care of it, and me, fabulously. And I know these weren't stock he was having trouble moving, because while I was hemming and hawing on colour they sold out in my size.

I had to wait a couple of months while Justin ordered to restock from the factory. During that time, he took time out of his busy schedule to check in with me occasionally to make sure I wasn't feeling forgotten about, we discussed a couple of additions to my order, and he gave me a recommendation on a last that fit similar to the boot so I could make sure to get the sizing exactly right. All in all he probably answered about 15 e-mails for a brand new customer he had just done a huge favour for.

I'm trying to keep this short but I really feel like this was easily one of the best customer service experiences of my life, and when the boots got here, they blew me away. The quality is really apparent right away and they were so much more comfortable than anything I had worn straight out of the box before.

Really top class treatment and product, A+ across the board.

Oh, I forgot to mention: I mentioned to Justin in an e-mail that I decided not to go with rubber topys because I was going to get a pair of the Fred & Matt overshoes he mentioned on his blog. A couple of days after I sent the boots out (which he turned around about a day after they arrived), he e-mailed me with a discount code for those overshoes. Really just shows how much he tries to do right by his customers even after the transaction has taken place.

@CanadaCal in the wild shots included, at least for one boot. The buckles do not interfere with my trousers and I wear very slim ones....for those that wear a wider bottom, they will simply go right over

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Genesees in mulberry, single leather with rubber bottoms pre-ordered!

I'm also gonna give a shout-out to Justin, who took the time to address my very specific questions and concerns on sizing/fit for the upcoming jodhpurs, both via email and with a phone call to me, UK to US. Thank you sir!

I'm super-psyched to wear these beauties soon, I now have something else to look forward to in October, besides Halloween devil.gif

Our MTO program has yet to have been truly marketed but for many of the JF enthusiasts (of which I am sure can testify) the MTO program offers a great value to those that might want something just a tad bit different.

Just to rattle off some numbers, with MTO you can customize using the following:

1. 5 different soles (not including storm welt which is possible)
2. 5 different lasts
3. 14 different crust leather colors, 14 box calf colors, 8 museum calfs, 7 colors of grain leather, 13 types of fabric/cloths and 24 different shades of suede.
4. Well over 50 different models with the ability to customize each model through the removal/addition cap, brogueing, and/or medallion etc

And all of that for only £90 (ex VAT £75) per pair. Please see some examples below and should this peak your interest you can email us at mto@jfitzpatrickfootwear.com

Two of those are mine! I can certainly attest that not only is it great value, but Justin is great to work with throughout the process. Through a change in my own planning, I wound up having mine sent to the US, then returned to the UK, then sent back on to me in South Africa. All of this Justin facilitated well in addition to great support in picking out the colors for calf and suede in my two tones (the tan/merlot spectators and the green/grey boots). The fit is great for my feet with an extremely minimal break-in period. I can't recommend the shoes/Justin highly enough.

To add to the post. Different widths are also avail I believe. I would love to try the narrow last fitting.
I think providing side by side photos or measurements to other popular lasts would be very helpful.
