Take a bar of soap to the zipper track and it will glide.

Think I'm going in on the charcoal. It's super warm, and looked great. I did size back to medium for it, but loved the fit. Really clean, underrated, and great price point at < $400. If you're on the fence, give it a look. It's really a nice bomber.

I ended up keeping my Aluminum Flight. The zipper works, it's just not always an easy immediate zip up. My boy at CNCPTS said that the Bogota had the same zipper issues. It just seems like the bottoms of the RiRi zippers on some of the outerwear this season are stiffer and harder to zip at the beginning of the process. If CNCPTS had the black or charcoal Bogota, I would've exchanged. The olive is a great color, just have so much green that I needed a black or grey. The oak is different enough for me to justify keeping the Aluminum Flight.

It's grey. With regards to buying it there are two things you might want to take into consideration.
1. This is a heavy, tight knit sweater. If you live in LA or Miami it's probably not gonna work for you. You'd be way too hot.
2. If you're looking for last years boucle, this isn't it. Like I said above this iteration is is slimmer and shorter. Last years version was way too oversized on me and long, looked like a dress even when I sized down. But I'm lanky AF, with a short torso. This version is more boxy. If you want that over sized look you could size up and I think I'd look great. I like it, but when I had it on it did make me look chubby from some angles so I imagine it could be not the most flattering piece on people. If you're muscular it'd prob look great. Overall I think it's great, it reminds me of the APC x Kanye airport sweater if you guys remember that. But rather than a split Hem it has a raw hem.

I do all the product photography here at work so I asked about some of their shooting processes to cross ref with my own and maybe get a couple cues, but they shut me right down with the "Unfortunately we can't share any tricks to our trade."

And, I have to say, I'm tired of hearing about "zippers made in Switzerland" like it's some incredible differentiator and driver of cost and production locations.  For Christ's sake, it's a damn Riri zipper that wholesales for under $5.

How do you feel about companies that just use YKK versus YKK Japan versus no-brand zippers over RiRi then? I'm stoked that JE still cares about details and uses RiRi for its zippers. It's the small attention to detail that matters.

Did you think that way about the Escobars too? They even mentioned the unlucky Colombian soccer player.

I'm not calling out the zipper, as I definitely agree that high quality zippers are important and can make a piece.  I'm more so referring to JE consistently using it as a reason for why they move production to China for certain things.  Like the couple dollar difference between a Riri zip and a non-brand is making the decision to move production to China for a $650 jacket.  I could see if they were producing on a 10,000 unit scale, it adds up.  But not for small runs.

^ Thanks for the photos! How thick is is? Does it "drape" at all or is it fairly structured?

It's fairly thick. I don't think it will drape well so prob best not to size for drape. It's really like a thick chunky sweater. I like the boucle from last year more

what size did you go with ?

The boucle was way too thick for me being from Southern California. The sweater didn't fit me right, but the joggers were dope. Sad to let those go, but I'm trading those in for the oak Bogota....so I'm happy with the trade off
