John Elliott - official affiliate thread - Page 1022

I'm a John Elliott-stan, but like others have said, I'm not loving what I'm seeing right now.

With that said, I believe in John Elliott and am looking forward to what the look-book shows.

I'm digging the majority of this! Not a fan at all of the puffers, but all the quilted patterns are killers, bombers are awesome, some great sweats, and that jacket in look 34 is BOMB.

Anyone pick up the Spring wash denim?

Honestly, are you guys even seeing the same runway show as I am? John killed this collection. What is "typical JE" anyway, basic tees and terry pieces? Are you really expecting him to not branch out into more intricate pieces and materials now that he has the means and support in order to successfully develop full wardrobes? I'm so excited for John and what he's been churning out, it's almost as if you so-called JE stans and supporters are pigeonholing him to his season four-era collections.

Maybe you need to take a second look, because the slim, minimalist pieces that JE is known for are still very well and present in FW16, while also expanding to a broader, new look that all should have been expected to see from a growing designer.

Looks like all the low top vans looking kicks are JE from what was seen in the magazine. High tops too probably? Don't like the lows. High tops look clean.

I think you may have taken my post out of context.

I am not expecting the permanent collection and basics.

I actually have no expectations.

But if you keep up with more than just JE or a few brands then you may understand.

Or maybe not. smile.gif
Didn't say it was all bad

This. We should appreciate the evolution. He doesn't appear to have any intentions of stagnating and resting on his laurels.

You have no expectations, but what JE presents you with makes you scratch your head and think, "is this really JE?"

I don't get you, man. All good though, like I said there's stuff in here for fans of both classic and newer JE, I just feel like you're not understanding John's vision for the brand.

It's okay for someone not to like something.

If someone showed me these pictures out of context, it would have taken me a minute or two to realize it's john elliott.  But I dont think that's a bad thing, it's great that his brand is evolving.  Some of the looks and pieces are a little too high fashion for me but 90% of that stuff looks super clean and easy to wear.  I didn't expect him to keep making different color tees and sweatpants so I'm REALLY looking forward to this next season.  Congrats @John Elliott!
