Was talking to the poster above you. Said he ordered Monday and was getting impatient. Assumed it was this week since the sale didn't start until Wednesday night of last week. Apparently quote and reply didn't go through.

Surprised to see that Padded Overshirt and Suede Yolk 41 Overshirt are both made in China. No complaints with quality, but I'd appreciate more transparency on manufacturing if more and more products are going to be made overseas. Padded Overshirt is a really nice piece, but it fits slimmer in the chest than the standard 41 and Snap Overshirts. Both Olive and Navy colors look great in person, and the cotton top layer is a sweet material.

This urks me. Not because I care where things are made, but if the labor as a whole is under the umbrella of being "made in Los Angeles", then there absolutely should be a disclaimer. I know it's only a few pieces this far, but it starts with one...

Is anyone in LA stocking the new denim?
Thanks

New to this thread and been browsing the past 80+ pages or so, a lot of good info.

I've been wearing my Cast 1 Obsidian (raw black) denim for about 2 weeks now and at first I was a little disappointed with the denim weight (extremely lightweight, almost feel paper thin) but actually became accostomed to it now and love that they're lightweight (all of my other jeans are RRL so it's a drastic difference).

Just a question for other Cast 1/2 owners: is the weight/construction of the denim similar or does it vary by wash/color? I know the new Cast 2 has stretch in it now and fits slimmer so just curious. I'm looking to buy the Cast 1 in Carbon while it's still available at certain places. Thanks for the help.

Fit and stacks are way better with cast 2.

@GTFan712, the old 41 OS was made in USA. Shame they moved production. Now I'm curious where the items I bought were made. We'll see come Monday.

@Bertdinner2, my Casts are actually tapered from the knee down. The slimmer fit at the calf let's them stack pretty well naturally.

Got my black Loopwheel villain today. Been a long journey. Also came with the book. smile.gif

Gonna miss the old tags. New ones are ugly

Looks like everything will eventually be made in China. 😂 I also have the older 41 in red made in USA(or maybe it isn't) who really knows

Wearing the China-made 41 right now. No complaints on quality or construction. No noticeable difference between the US-made Snap Overshirts I received.

Interested to hear the reasoning behind moving the 41 production, as this isn't a synthetic like the Raincoats or Engineered Pants.

Probably just shortcuts. Disappointing to raise the price and move it off shore which is probably cheaper to make.

If they wanna raise the prices on us anyway atleast find a way to do everything in USA, even the tech stuff. Give the customers their money's worth

Maybe the massive expansion of the line led to outsourcing? Many of the pieces were made in small batches so I don't know if it's a capacity issue. I personally don't care where an item is made as long as it's quality. I do agree though on rising prices for the consumer shouldn't necessarily be just for pure profit if manufacturing costs are being reduced. Either way, I buy based on what I like and the price associated with the item. Je customer service has always taken care of quality control issues for me.

Made in CHINA? For a $440 overshirt? You have got to be fucking kidding me.

I don't think they're outsourcing manufacturing entirely. But a lot of expensive clothing is made in China.
