The product page is now live and you can see the fits on that page: http://www.johnelliott.co/collections/denim/products/the-cast-graphite

The inventory will be live on Tuesday.

Here is a pre-release of the new denim sizing. The top block is still a bit more relaxed, with our signature higher rise back, lower rise front, but the taper is more aggressive. We will have a more interactive chart on our site.

Ok. Now im interested again as the 36 would only need to have 3" taken out of the waist and I can fit a 12.5" thigh.

But I'm confused. Is this new sizing for ALL denim? Like, you've completely gotten rid if the old fit or is this only relevant to the graphite denim?

The washed jeans will run about a size smaller, but we will hand measure those as well. We want to make sure everyone gets the correct measurements on denim before ordering. Best bet will be to measure a pair of jeans that you know fit you well and reference our flat measurements. The Coast in our new fit are a few weeks out.

All denim that is currently on our site is the current fit.

Moving forward, all new denim will be in the measurements I posted above. We are currently producing Cobalt, Obsidian, Coast, & Carbon in the new fit for a late April release. Graphite will be the first denim to release in the new fit, early next week.

Thanks for clearing that up, the waist on the 32 looks perfect if I got a half inch of stretch but there's now way I could fit an 11.5" thigh. Are those thigh measurements taken really low down near the knee? I can't comprehend how somebody can fit into that, and the 36 and 38 would be HUGE at my waist.

The thigh measurements are taken from the bottom of the front rise, straight across. The fit might not be for everyone - They are a very slim tapered jean.

With that said, I have someone in here wearing a 32 who is 6'1" 190 lbs and is by no means small.

Thanks man. I might give them another try with the new fit, but I tried a 32,34 and 36 of the old/current obsidian and none of them worked out. I'm 6'2" 214 so I'm not exactly a weird body type or anything, they just might not be for me, like you said. I might just need to stick with straight fits.

Still stoked for the updated villain crew (it's a standard, run-of-the-mill crew neck now, right?) and the zip bomber.

Do you have really muscular legs? I'm sure u could wear tapered jeans, u just might need something with a looser top block.

@JohnElliottCo I see that you have the size chart up. Thanks, but would you say waist size is true or still size down for tomorrow's raw denim?

You would need to size down to fit your waist appropriately. Honestly, the best way to avoid problems in ordering this denim is to take a pair of jeans that fits you perfectly, lay it flat, and measure the waist (and other measurements), flat. Whatever comes closest to our posted measurements is the size you should buy. The raw denim will stretch at least 1/2 inch so if you don't mind wearing them tight to begin with, I would go for that.

For instance (and this is Mike here, not John) I am a 30 - 31" waist - that is what my worn in jeans measure when laid flat (about 15.5" across). I am wearing a 27 in the graphite. They are tight but I know they will stretch. I'm 5'10" 155 lbs.

I hope that helps. Again, the best way is really to take an existing pair of denim that you know fits, measure it laid flat, and then compare to our charts to see what could fit.

As a quick update, the denim is done, but it won't hit our site, along with the new Villain Crews (and a restock of Grey Hooded Villains) until early next week. We were shooting for this weekend, but it is going to be late Monday or Tuesday.

I've said this before but for FW14 we will be tagging the denim to more appropriately reflect waist size, but these measurements are accurate.

Muscular, but not abnormally. Power lifter for 8 years, now I train for other reasons but have kept most of my leg (and ass) size.
Top block usually isn't a huge problem though, there's several other brands that fit me fine but the J+E washes are some of the best I've seen and after I ordered the last seasons obsidian the denim itself is really nice and a good weight for spring/summer.

I'm a size 30-31 myself and my worn in jeans fit good anywhere between 15.5 and 16 inches. It all depends on how slim they are. I want to try the 27 for maximum slim fit but kind of nervous about them being too tight. Leaning towards the 28

I measured these all myself and the 28 and 27 seem to be pretty similar, as is obvious from the measurements. If you are worried about sizing here you could probably go 28.
