we gotta get some more pictures on here of ya'll wearing this john elliott stuff.  esp. the shorts--haven't seen those on besides on the model.  i definitely love the t-shirts, i have every style each in all 3 colors--but haven't had the guts to pull the trigger on getting the sweatshirts/shorts/sweatpants/etc due to lack of seeing how it looks on, bc, tbh, it is pricey!

Any plans to bring back the Grey/Grey escobars? (Not the grey/black)

And the tee's aren't pricey?

Just saying, if you have all the T's in all the colours isn't that like 9 T's? The silk trio alone is over $300.

Honestly, the best way to avoid problems in ordering this denim is to take a pair of jeans that fits you perfectly, lay it flat, and measure the waist (and other measurements), flat. Whatever comes closest to our posted measurements is the size you should buy. The raw denim will stretch at least 1/2 inch so if you don't mind wearing them tight to begin with, I would go for that.

For instance (and this is Mike here, not John) I am a 30 - 31" waist - that is what my worn in jeans measure when laid flat (about 15.5" across). I am wearing a 27 in the graphite. They are tight but I know they will stretch. I'm 5'10" 155 lbs.

I hope that helps. Again, the best way is really to take an existing pair of denim that you know fits, measure it laid flat, and then compare to our charts to see what could fit.

As a quick update, the denim is done, but it won't hit our site, along with the new Villain Crews (and a restock of Grey Hooded Villains) until early next week. We were shooting for this weekend, but it is going to be late Monday or Tuesday.

I've said this before but for FW14 we will be tagging the denim to more appropriately reflect waist size, but these measurements are accurate.

Hello,

I know you said the graphite (raw denim) will stretch half an inch - is that all around especially the thigh and knee area or just the waist?  Or any others that own the denim - have yours stretched in the thigh and other areas?

Thanks!

The denim will stretch a bit everywhere - in the waist it will stretch more because the most stress is applied there and it is also the largest surface area of the jean with pressure. Fabric stretches where there is pressure (thighs, knees, waist) but it stretches proportionately, so it won't necessarily be .5" everywhere.

I wore my escobar quilteds for the day and decided that the sizing was perfect. I thought they were too loose in thighs at first but I think I just expected tighter. After wearing for a day I love them, so comfortable too.

Just got my updated Villian Crew. Damn that was fast! Unfortunately, I'm still on the fence with the neck hole. While smaller, its still a good deal bigger than a standard crew neck. I was hoping for more of a fit like in the original lookbook. It could be how it was styled in the pictures, but the neck looks really high on the model, especially for the grey one. This piece may just not be for me.

I haven't received mine yet but is the neck still wide to the point where you can't wear a crew neck without it being seen? Or will the mercer tanks or u necks work easily without fixing?

What size did you get? Maybe it varies a bit by that ?
