Audi S5: not enough, or too much?

So, this thing is smack in the middle of the new 335i Coupe and the new M3. Personally, for a few grand more, I'll take the M3; or, alternatively, the 335i for a few grand less.

What's your take?

I dunno that thing is pretty badass and I own a new 335.

That is one cool looking car but I would personally go with the M3.
Better yet keep saving for an SL600

I think the design of the Audi is better than the over-angled BMW.

Audi's advantage is that it has its particular brand of Bauhaus design, but I have heard there are reliability issues.

I agree, the 3 and 5 series BMW's look like they went through some bad plastic surgery.

Audis are like German Honda Accords: competent, but soulless.

You need a man with no soul to make such a comment.

The first (?) gen A4 in 1999, with the 2.8L engine, Quattro, and Tiptronic. Very nice, competent car, but going from that into an automatic E46 323 coupe was like night and day. Current BMWs are kind of soulless, too, even the Z4 M Coupe. Porsches on the other hand ...

Honestly, Honda has some soul. They have a passion to built fantastic engines, and they don't flap in the wind of a highly market driven industry. They make engines they want to make and put them in cars they want to build. Most Japanese or budget oriented car manufacturers are the exact opposite.

I've never owned a Honda, and they don't build a car that interests me, but I do have a bit of respect for the company.
