Are wearing levi's fashiionable these days? I see the levis 501 jean and am surprised it costs under 40 dollars here at macys

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/produc...tegoryID=21796

Was this the one in the commerical because it was the original?

Also, the levi 527 looks good to me

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/produc...tegoryID=15333

I'm really surprised these jeans are both under 50 dollars since most good jeans cost 100+ these days. Are these 2 jeans good or are they not that good and I should just put in 150+ for those True religion/seven jeans?

Levi's are generally inexpensives...
Those prices are actually relatively expensive as compared to deals you can normally get for them elsewhere. I can probably get 501's for $25 normally and $15-$20 if I look really hard.

back in the 50s, levis sold for 4.95. folks were shocked when levis came out in colors and cost a dollar more. but then hickey freemans were $100. and gas was 29 cents.

Try them on and see how they fit you. If they fit well, then it's worth the cash. If you're only shooting for image, mass produced 'premium' jeans like 7FAM and such are obviously going to be recognizable, but Levi's are certainly not looked down upon. I think Levi's are more respectable and fashionable than American Eagle and your standard high school-mall brands.

The majority of members of this forum are less concerned with the mass produced 'premium' jeans (7FAM, TR,etc.) and more focused on artisan quality, small batch denim runs, and raw denim brands that have a more focused niche than the stuff you'll find at department stores.
