HIROSHI ARAI MTO show

Trunk show starting tomorrow @ World Footwear Gallery, Ginza, Tokyo (show ends at 4/30)

Hiroshi Arai is the director of MIYAGI KOGYO brand shoes. He launched this new MTO collection under his own name.
The selection looks good: 6 lasts, 22 designs, domestic and imported leathers (including Horween), and better yet, there's a nice selection of Japanese cordovan from Shinki Hikaku. The shoes are goodyear welted, made by Miyagi Kogyo.

Priced quite reasonably, starting from ¥43,050 JPY ($440 USD or so)

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 80

MASAHITO FURUHATA Bespoke Shoes

Furuhata's shoes have soft rounded edges and slight volume, true to the classic Italian style of old Gatto and Messina (where he did his apprenticeship for 6 years. He started his own Bespoke operation in 2008). His big square toes look just like the old Gatto. smile.gif

He was regularly seen on magazines (LAST, MEN'S EX etc...), but I just heard that he was hired by Marini, in Rome, and will be saying goodbye to Japan soon (and hence closing down his Bespoke operation)

Have to say I much prefer square toes to chisel toes...

His new house last (bespoke) seems to have a smoother, less pronounced shape, compared to this older example (or maybe it's the angle)

Spigola MTO.   Sorry for my poor photographic technique.

I agree that they have nice collection of leather with texture.
