White Canvas Sneakers

White Canvas Sneakers Been looking for a pair for a little while now. Anyone have a pair they like? I'm looking for something a little bulkier than Chucks and comes up a little further on the ankle. Looking to spend around $100. Any help would be appreciated.

Further up on the ankle than Chucks lows? Or highs?

Before you go spending $100, have you checked out Jack Purcells, or Vans Authentics?

The Lows, somewhere right below the ankle, almost like a 3/4 shoe. I know its pretty vague I've been to a bunch of different stores. I'll check those your recommend out. This would be close to the shape and hight i'm looking for, just in white (or off white) canvas http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/6864899.html These would be perfect if only in white.

if you can find a pair (or have a friend in australia) get your hands on a pair of dunlop volleys... best white kickaround sneakers imho

the "crazy lace" cons are really nice imo.

ahh the Volleys godblessem I have a checkerboard pair of slip ons and some white spotty ones....love em. The old school ones are cooler, but dont suit me.

Vans Chukkas in white canvas might work, but they're probably a bit taller than what you're really looking for.

I'm debating a pair of these Paul Smith. I think they look nice. Just don't know if I want to buy more white shoes before I get some other pairs.

i have a question about Jack Purcells do they fit true to size or do i have to size down like converses
post #12 of 41
you might have to size down 1/2 size, but they don't run really large like chucks

I just tried on Purcells and then ordered them from Zappos (the store I went to didn't have white canvas, so I'm not an unscrupulous jerk). After some deliberation on whether I wanted to get a custom pair (I especially liked the top ones and they would have looked better in person):

I decided to just get the plain classic all white with navy smile for $55. I usually wear an 11 in most sneakers and a 10.5 in Purcells was perfect.

BTW, they are much more substantial inside than Chucks or the old USA Purcells - they have a removable insole and padded tongue and were really comfy walking around the store. When I get the chance to play badminton in them, I'll be sure to report back.

Are there any good alternatives to Vans True White slip-ons? Particularly with touches of colour (these would be great with red trim):
