Searched, but not much related to my question matched. Picked up a pair Red Wing Black Cherry 9111 (Gentlemen Traveler) and pairing them with dark blue jeans and wondering does it matter the color of the belt? Since it's jeans does the belt have to be black cherry, cordorvan, burgandy or will a black belt.

Natural leather belts are pretty cool. It's no big deal though.

Don't wear a white or very colorful belt, and don't match the color exactly. If it's a black belt, it should clearly not look like a dress belt. Sometimes a tan belt draws attention to a broad waist, just in case we're not talking stereotypical thin fashion person. A medium blue belt might actually look okay.

Nick Sullivan gave some good advice in the last Esquire - match the saturation of the colors, rather than the colors themselves. So, for example, I have on a pair of darker dove grey sneakers. I am pairing them with a washed out black belt. If it was a pitch black belt, it would not have worked. Or if the belt were matched with pitch black shoes, that would have been terrible. But they work together because the depth of the colors is similar.
