Looks great. Is that new or vintage? It looks vintage, but I have a feeling it is no due to tags...

According to the seller it was purchased around 2000, stored and never used. Can't seem to find any wear on it..

What do you guys think of the SAB briefs vs. something like LV Taiga/Epi or Prada Saffiano leather cases?

The latter seem more modern but will they last as long? The reviews on the corrected grain leathers in these patterns seems to be that they are nearly indestructible (something I'm sure the bridle leather in SAB also has)? My problem with SAB is that they can look too "attorney-like" at times.

Personally both of the bags you mentioned look more like handbags / purses than briefcases. Have you looked at Valextra? Modern looking and good quality (not cheap though)

The SAB, LV Taiga, and Prada Saffiano come in multiple styles including classic briefcase looks (in addition to the purse looking ones). I was wondering if anyone has experience with the different leathers in terms of their durability for SAB bridle vs. corrected taiga vs. corrected saffiano?

Can't really speak for LV and Prada's leather's .... they look good, but feel a tad bit softer and fragile from first glance, I was really keen on the Saffiano briefcase.

That being said, I got myself an SAB Westminster II brief in London Tan last November and it looks like with proper care, it'll last for a decade or two at least, if it doesn't outlast me. Scratches will develop, but for an SAB, it's considered "character".. well that's what I've been told, but the bag itself seem to be telling me that every time I admire it...smile.gif

Santa got my mother a Mulberry Bayswater purse that was on her Xmas list and since I am looking for a briefcase for my father I had the store throw a Bayswater soft black goat briefcase in the box so we could take a look at it...my father really likes the bag, so do I...it's a simple bag, the leather is really nice, overall a nice little briefcase. Only downside in my father's mind is my mother's Bayswater bag is made in England and the Bayswater briefcase is not.

My father is also looking at a Dunhill satchel but I think he likes the Mulberry better...
