I don't know who makes RL bags and luggage, but they do a great job, yours is an excellent example. I have a couple pieces myself that attract a lot of positive comments everytime I carry them.
Thanks for that - I shall have to keep an eye out on eBay as my local RL store certainly doesn't stock anything that nice!
I really like the combination of the old-school Swaine Adeney Brigg shape and lock, with the Hermes-like handle. I suspect that it might have been made by SAB for RL, but unfortunately I don't think that SAB does a stock model like that.

You're right Forex, it is indeed the same briefcase as mine. I didn't realize that it was from RL's Purple Label until seeing the eBay link. My briefcase very unfortunately didn't come with the purple dustbag even though I bought mine at the local RL store (they couldn't locate it).
I absolutely dig the RL briefcase and I wouldn't have spent the extra on the other briefcase if I had seen this first!
Yes, would anyone know who makes all these great RL bags?
I posted these pics Jan 2009, but in a totally unrelated thread. Got deleted by mistake. Here they are again in their proper place. The briefcase belonged to my grandfather, and is now used by me. It's had new straps plus lots of love & attention. Have included two bonus shots of my grandfather (wearing spectator shoes and glasses) in front of aircraft... carrying the very same briefcase! It's a piece of living, working history: I'll remove the two bonus shots soon, to keep this thread right on topic
