Briefcase porn thread - Page 38

Some pics of my "new" old Filson field satchel that I just purchased off of Craigslist. The seller claims to have never used it and from the condition of it, I believe that is the case. You'll notice that this has the older style lock, which I actually prefer over the newer style lock. That's because this was originally purchased in Jan. 1999! The seller included the original receipt as well as the Pecard's leather dressing that was purchased with the case (which was still unopened). So I opened it and gave it a good lathering.

I tried taking some pics that would show the brownness of the case b/c every pic I see online looks black. I know would-be buyers would like to see the brown. It's certainly dark but definitely brown.

I've owned (and regretfully sold) an SAB Westminster and I must say that the Filson is right up there in quality. The main thing I prefer more on the SAB other than the color choices is the full straps, which allow you to "squeeze" the case to a slim portfolio when not full. However, the downside to the full straps is that they prevent the case from standing upright which the Filson does easily. Plus, the Filson is no pig in the depth department but actually holds more than I thought it would based on the concerns I've read of its being too small. Anyway, I don't mean to turn this into an all out review so here are the pics...

Yeah, that's the one I sold. I'm currently in search of another one but the Filson has greatly diminished that desire.

The Peal topframe shown is currently up for sale on ebay.

Nice bag. I've been quite impressed with Mulholland products. I don't own any, but from what I've seen, they are very well made.
