I must have been too hasty with my clickings, you are right! The other leather options are available as well, apologies for any confusion caused. Time to start saving shog[1].gif

Gents, I would appreciate your thought regarding this British fellow :

Are you familiar with his work? I have managed to get us a discount in case you like anything from his work.

I'm embarrassed to admit but I own their music bag/briefcase (have more bags than common sense) and have just ordered the flapover briefcase recently and am awaiting its delivery. Unfortunately, I ordered it before the Brexit so I'm not enjoying any benefits of the suddenly cheaper GBP rate...

Quality wise, the bridle leather feels substantial. I'm unable to identify if it's butt or shoulder but the construction is similar to Ray Clark where majority of the body is machine stitched while the handle and strap holders are hand stitched. I could probably take some shots when the briefcase arrives.

The history or marketing information was that, the original rutherfords factory was going under and someone bought them out, keeping the manufacturing equipment and workers hence retaining the heritage of british bag making or what not foo.gif

Anyway, just curious what case are you looking to get from them?

Thanks for the prompt reply. I believe he's using the shoulder part ..

I thought of ordering a twist lock portfolio in racing green - http://www.roeproducts.com/twistlock.html

P.S Why are you embarrassed regarding the Music bag? I also like the look, though my girlfriend says it's too feminine and she wouldn't like to see me wearing one .. When is music bag supposed to be worn? I couldn't find much about it's history and would like to hear if there are some "rules" about it ..

I think I might have phrase that badly, I'm embarrassed at the amount of bags that I have bought, sold and own but not because I'm carrying a music bag.

As for the history on music bags, the most common I've heard is that it's meant for carrying music sheets by professors/teachers of music. It's a single compartment and content are easily accessible since it's just a single handle that's tightening the flap against the case. That said, you probably don't want to be carrying anything more than 3-4 kg in it due to its construction.

Love the green suede lining. How much does it raise the cost, roughly speaking?

Pretty tempting. Anyone know the tannery from which they get their leather from? Any other opinions on leather quality and thickness. Prices seem to be reasonable.

Feel free to send them an e-mail with any question, they usually reply within the 24 hours .. Considering the record low GBP and a 15% discount I will definitely order a Folio for a start, though still not sure what lock to go with ..
