Briefcase porn thread - Page 160

Hi.  Bizarre but I was trying to find out what the fish logo was that you asked in 2006!  I have a handmade English satchel made of brindle leather with a fish logo a bit like that for Poole pottery.  Hunting high and low to try and find it then saw your thread.  Did you find out?  Can you remember!  Ordered a tan Grantchester with my only modification being a small newspaper pocket on the back. Will post pics once I receive it.

We usually don't venture out of our own affiliate thread, but this is a special occasion.

We're running a small competition for a $1,000 Linjer gift card.

Has anybody used the 'Old Russia' leather dressing that is available from Cleverley's for the Russian Leather? Does it significantly darken the leather? If yes, does the leather come back to its original colour? Thanks.

Yes. There was some initial darkening through the introduction of moisture, but in my experience this passed and the leather returned to its original colour.

Thanks a lot SimonC. May I ask how many days did it take to restore the original color. Did you have to do anything special to get back to the original color?

I have a tin, has a great birch smell, but I prefer Saphir's leather balm.

Maybe the best solution (which I intend to try) is GlenKaren conditioner/cleaner followed by some of the Cleverley stuff to restore the smell.

Came across what looks like a fairly new bag maker called CROL + CO. Might be an option for those looking for an affordable briefcase as the bag they sell will run you only £290 ($423 USD). I like the design and the fact the briefcase has a fairly slim, but usable profile. Stitching is nothing to write home about, but not bad for the price point. Three shades of veggie tanned leather to choose from, solid brass hardware, etc. Looks like they didn't include pen slots which is odd, but there is a phone pocket.

Looks sweet. Any info on quality? Does it justify the price?

I have no experience with the brand so I really couldn't tell you. I did some poking around and it looks like they started their web store in January of this year, so they are very new. As far as I can tell the people who run this Etsy shop founded the brand. They might be seeing if they can make a successful go at bag making as a business and are keeping pricing low at the start with plans to raise it over time if they start to take off.

For a fully veggie tanned bag with solid brass hardware that doesn't appear to be made in China, the pricing is really good. No way I can speak to the quality at this point in time. I wouldn't have an issue trying the brand out if they would be willing to work with me on a return if I wasn't happy with the product they sent me.
