On Frank Clegg's webstore, no. His bags are sold via a few online retailers (Like NMWA for one) and may end up going on sale with one of them.

I do know that he sometimes has items that didn't make it by QA. Small defects or imperfections that he will sell at discounted prices, but you have to email them directly for availability. My experience is a lot of 2nds from quality brands like this have such minor issues that hardly anyone would ever notice them.

Almost all Italian producers carry such a lock. Take a look here: http://www.mmcolombo.it/en/products-catalogue/keys-locks.html (Model 203S) and here: http://www.obi.it/catalogue.asp?absolutepage=6&lang=en&catalogo_id=1 (Model LB40)

Great looking work you do and thanks for the recent 'Reputation' - you are relatively local to me by the sounds of it! Hope all is going well.

I looked at the facebook page and I liked the Winchester model with the round lock and I also requested a bigger case 17 inches wide by 12 inches in height. I also requested 3 gussets instead of 2, leather strap was also a special request, color is conker.

I had the case shipped to my friend in Scotland who brought it to me here in Thailand and his comments when he saw it were that was very high quality which it is.

Communication was great and I would recommend Roth as a true craftsman who makes excellent cases for a great price.

If I were to have one small complaint it would be the strap as it's very thick like a belt and could be thinner and lighter.

The case with this type of leather and the strap is not light weight however it is an amazing case of high quality for a great price that will last longer than me.

This is awesome - I've had Hrothgar Stibbon on my radar for a while now - his pricing seems to be one of the lowest while still having solid craftsmanship and using English bridle from Sedgwick. Does that strap have a shoulder pad as well? Might make carrying that beast a little more bearable to distribute the weight. Love your design choices though - the strap fits the bag really well. The conker looks incredible.

Lovely looking case, may I ask which colour that is from Sedgwick please?
Are they extremely expensive?

I'm pretty sure it's Sedgwick's Conker color, though Robert can probably weigh in definitively. His is a custom piece, but for a bridle leather case of this level of craftsmanship and leather quality, they seem pretty inexpensive to me at $483 US for the standard Winchester. I've been eyeing them for a while now myself. If you're interested in having something custom made, I've emailed Roth (Hrothgar) before and he's really great to email back and forth with.

**Edit - I just realized you seem like a leatherworker yourself, making this entire post a little embarrassing...I've left up the original text for anyone that's not in the biz and interested.

Hi,

Has anyone heard from Simon Baker (Casemaker) recently?
I've ordered a bespoke case and it's now been 10months since I paid half.
He seems to have gone silent for the last few months and I've tried contacting him via 3 different emails and his telephone no (which is now disconnected).
Starting to get worried about my order.

Any help guys?

His website has the contact details of a London agent, have you tried him?

I heard from Simon last October when I visited Scotland. Tried to get up to visit him, but couldn't find the time to get out there. He lives quite a bit North of Edinburgh. Another member on here did hear from him recently, he is in the process if making him a case he ordered last year. I placed an order with him last May, but from past experience know it takes about a year, give or take, for him to commence work on a piece.

I've been in touch with Simon these past few weeks.  We exchanged emails about some design details, and he said that he would start when his bench was clear.  That was last week, so I remain hopeful that he'll start my bag soon.  Simon mentioned that his old email server was down and that emails were not getting through.  He has a new outlook account and has been good about replying.  I'll post here if/when I have more information or updates.

Just for perspective: I put down a deposit in December of 2014.

He is indeed making limited amounts of briefcases again for the time being. Dark Havana and London Tan bridle leather. When I had exchanged messages with him he didn't indicate he will have chestnut as a choice.
