Norcal,

The bag is stunning and looks like it will last for generations. I can't wait to see more photos. I have been looking for this bag for years without knowing it.

A present to myself after a particularly profitable deal. The weathering comes from 8 years of hard use. I don't believe the Hartmann belting leather is of the same quality any longer as the price is actually below 7-10 years ago.

Can anybody comment on the quality of Pratesi briefcases? The models they display on their website look quite nice.

I had the bag sitting out in the sun all day Saturday (it jumpstarts the leather aging process) and was going to take pictures on Sunday with my good digital camera, but the $%$# fog came in and has been sitting overhead for 2 days now and provides terrible light

it's completely grey out and the weather for the rest of the week looks bleak as well, but whenever it clears, I'll take them

p.s. I'm meeting with Myron this week to take pics of his operation as well as lots of pics of his other bags,,,, hopefully can post all this weekend

Dunno. It's italian made by a small brand. But perhaps thats why my eye was drawn to the briefcase since it had a distinct english quality.

Just checked online - it does resemble the club check, although not exactly the same.

I noticed this bag in the waywn thread and am glad you've provided more details about it in this here. I really like, it caught my eye. It's not a bag I would have given a second look at in a store but I can now see how one could pull it off nicely.

This letter carrier bag is very nice. I have a J. Peterman reproduction in suede. I am surprised to see how accurate the Peterman piece is. Someone said they may ask unlucky to make a messenger bag in horsehide. I wonder if he could do this?

Hello all,

I am thinking of buying this briefcase at eBay. I plan to use it to go to work, or to go to an interview.

I consulted my two most trusted female advisors, but unfortunately they gave two opposite views on this briefcase.

So please let me know your opinion.

Thanks,

Technically not a briefcase, but I thought I'd post a few pics of some Portfolios/ envelope-style document cases that I've been using:

1. Black and brown envelope-style document case (measures about 14.5X11):

2. Black zip-top portfolio with zipper-clasp (about 15X11):

I use portfolios a lot. These look very nice.

I even often use portfolios when I'm out and about casually and don't have a jacket for my phone, keys, wallet, etc. I don't like to carry things in my pant pockets and I'm not a fan of messenger bags, so I'll often use a portfolio.
