Try sending them an e-mail to see if they're still active.

Here are the two bags that are my inspiration: tumblr_mzyb81EHgZ1s3of5io1_1280.jpg

This Japanese bag is beautiful in ways that I can't even describe, but I can't find it anywhere online and I can only imagine it is substantially out of the price range.

This latch case from JP Marcellino is also awesome -- http://www.jpmarcellino.com/index.php/latch-briefcases/habermas-english-bridle-latch-briefcase/habermas-2042.htm, but it's base is outside of the price range, and I would probably want to add a couple of things to it.

So any recommendations that you guys have would be wonderful. Thanks

Beautiful...beautiful...beautiful...

Can someone please explain to me the relationship between SAB, Brooks Brothers, and Peal as well as any other relevant information? For example, when one says SAB for BB, does this mean that SAB has designed a line specifically for them to sell and is separate and, perhaps, not in the same league as their other products?

No, it means that Brooks Brothers has co-branded some SAB products; much like they do with Alden shoes.

Brooks Brothers do not necessarily offer the same models as found on the main SAB website but that's down to the options specified. Think of the Peal attache for example as the "default" model. I don't know about now but it used to be some stores would offer you a similar case, and then you could upgrade your order with a hand-stitched handle, or bridle leather rather than green skiver leather lining. The current SAB website appears to only sell such fully-upgraded cases. Either way it's a good product.

The other Peal bags may be closer to their present SAB equivalents, I don't know.

I'll pass along a tip for Henry Tompkins. When I was in the hunt for a flapover near your price range (you're willing to spend a bit more than I at the time) his was high on my list for "bang for the buck". In the end I went with something totally different altogether. But ever since I've still considered getting a flapover to have in rotation and I keep coming back to his. Last time I googled around I found nothing but praise for him and his work.

This model, his "essential briefcase" at £145 is a certified bargain. Plus there are many upgrade options and I understand he'll even do personal requests if you have something specific in mind. This is clearly it's simpler than what you are citing, but I still thought it worth the mention.

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread to ask but does anyone know where to buy a custom canvas or canvas+leather bag?  It seems to me that canvas would be very different from leather to work with but maybe not...

I don't know about custom, but if you're willing to buy off the rack, I believe like Fossil would be a good place to look.

The bag is beautiful. Quite similar to my JP Marcellino Alfred Wallace. What is the price?

Of those Goyard makes to order - but you will have to take out a mortgage.

I've really seen anyone carry the hard-sided attaches from LV.

Much more English workmanship style than JP to my eye, much more like SAB and very nice indeed

Thank for your information. Can you please describe what you mean by "English Workmanship style"?
