That is a stunningly beautiful case. The subtle variations in the hide are mesmerizing. Congrats.

I don't think I have ever posted this before. I had it made about three years ago. As you can see from the composite photo, it has two compartments - one of which is clean so it can hold a laptop if desired and the other has organizing pockets for pens, cards, phone, etc. While there is no frame, it holds its shape well. It is also fairly heavy for a soft case - the suede is full grain. The key case is a little bulky, so I don't use it.

Now I'm in a dilemma between choosing this case, or the Ministerial briefcase you put up some time ago!

Very nice soft suede briefcase. Definitely one of the nicer soft briefcases I've seen. Where was it made? Do you treat the suede with cleaning agents and water-proofing sprays?

They're there now.

I haven't done anything to it in terms of cleaning and it seems to not need anything. It was made in Russia. This has photo identifies the maker:

He had posted photos of a bag called the Siberia several years ago. I liked the leather and general shape so contacted him a year or two later. The design and layout is loosely based on elements of a Land's End canvas attache that I had long carried combined with Igor's original Siberia design.

Any recommendations for a SAB Westminster 3 type bags for around $1000? I saw the threads for Simon Baker and JP Macellino, but seems like those are around 1500+. Not a fan of the Filson or Saddleback ones, looking for a cleaner, polished look rather than the worn in looks those eventually become.

I was searching high and low and I could not find any. Therefore, I am going with JP Marcellino.

My bag finally came in the mail.

This is incredible. How much does something like this cost?

I once had my eye on the now defunct BB soft slim briefcase in Shell Cordovan but could never stomach the $4k pricetag. I liked it so much that I just decided to make one for myself. I typically make smaller wallets & cases in Shell & alligator for close friends & family and have only ever made 4 large briefs.

Single gusset 100% Horween color #8 shell. Completely cut/assembled and saddle stitched by hand. Partially lined in suede with hand "antiqued" solid brass hardware.

Been awhile since I made this case and I'm finally getting around to using it. Constructive feedback welcomed!

(pardon the now nasty cutting board - need to replace that)

Hold out a few more weeks until I take delivery of a second Ministerial briefcase, but this time in black... supposed to be done this month. This might give you a third option to think about! LOL.
