Hopefully it'll drop down in price in a few months once the initial hype is over, £849 is still just the preorder price.

One can certainly hope the price will drop. Unfortunately it seems that the higher end company glass never goes down just up.

Yea I want the 35 mm FOV and the 1.4 but theres no other lens for the fuji mount except for the fuji lens. Well there is the magic slr but it doesnt auto focus. so there really isnt an alternative. Which is a con for the fuji x-trans sensor but luckily fuji's glass is amazing.

Worst case scenario I have to take a trip to the US to buy it, as it'll be £300 cheaper.

Oh I understand the conundrums that can go with a system. I ended up going with the Sony system because of my Minolta film systems. One of those systems is a Maxxum 7000 with a few good lenses. Since Sony owns the rights to the Minolta cameras they went with the same lens mount. One of the things they did was make sure the cameras would be backwards compatible with the old Minolta glass. The problem was Sony was a new kid on the block with DSLRs. Unlike Nikon or Canon there was no guarantee that Sony would stay in the game. So there I sat with basically a couple of thousand dollars worth of full frame good usable glass and an unproven DSLR maker who was trying to get into the market. Long story short I bought an A100 body and haven't looked back. I'm currently shooting an A77 with an A200 and A700 as backups. I almost went with the A99 but decided not to since I could get the A77 with 2 lenses for the same money. The 16-50 kit lens is a cropped lens but it's rumored to be a Zeiss in disguise. I can believe that after seeing the images and the price of the lens. The other lens is 70-210 full frame f2.8 G zoom. There's rumors floating around that Sony is doing something big with full frame cameras and supposedly 3 new bodies are coming out next year. I'll wait to see what they do. I'm thinking they're working on something to compete with the Nikon 800. If that's the case I'll have to seriously consider getting one and selling off most of the APS-C equipment.

Recent shots from fairly new x100s. Really diggin it so far. Great in low-light. Those who have one - are you using filters or hood? Strap recommendations?

Just got mine, no accessories so far. May leave it as is, may add a cheap hood and basic filter so I feel more comfortable leaving the lens cap off.

Few shots from a wedding this weekend, first time really using the x100s.

I like the looks of that Fuji camera. It reminds me of my SRT102. I'll have to visit the camera store and see if they have a rental so I can play with one for a week or so.

I have an X100 (sadly no S).

I can recommend the cloth strap from Artisan&Artist. It's very comfortable and if you get the adjustable one you can wear it across the chest and it'll be long enough for you to raise the camera to eye level.

In the pic there's a plain filter from Heliopan on it. I don't use that all the time. Remember that a filter requires the Fuji adapter ring and you won't be able to use the cap with it (the cap will fit but it'll fall off).

Also, I used to have an Abrahamsson soft release but recently lost it. Will shoot for a while without and see if I miss it...

A recent shot (no PP):

They're not terribly clear or great, but I still mostly suck at this.

^ I think the last one has a great mood. If you'd told me it was a 40 year old shot I would've believed it.

Thanks!

And Regis, I didn't actually go or anything, I just happened to be walking past through the area. Loved him in Breaking Bad though.

Got the x100 as well, I concur with the artisan&artist strap.
