Electrolysis, or get a tan

Tan sounds least expensive, but I don't think that actually works.

Sure. Use proper wetshaving techniques, a fresh blade, and shave with, across, and against the grain using as many passes as you can stand. It's not very comfortable for most and some people (probably most) will have irritation, razor bumps, and ingrown hairs. But you will get a closer shave, and more time before the stubble comes back.

I do all that already, but with a cartridge blade. I am left with a greyish tint where my beard grows, even though it is very smooth on that area.

Then I think your out of luck as far as what you can do with conventional shaving. Darker skin (as with the tan suggestion) will make it less noticeable. And depending on your profession, you could always rock the Clive Owen perma-stubble:

Foundation, powder, etc.

if you're going to embrace the stubble, maybe instead of Clive Owen you can rock it like Don Jonson.

I look horrible with stubble, that is definitely not an option. Are there any products I can use? Oh, and I've been wanting to get a tan, so that seems like a great idea.

Get a DE razor and work your way up to a Feather blade. Or shave again later in the day.

My hair doesn't grow again until the next day.

Oh, but it does so well. Visible stubble is all about contrast.

These work well

They don't break me out and it looks natural on my skin(Im white). If you don't like the effect for whatever reason just exfoliate.

I'm really pale and never thought getting a tan would help the problem, but I'll give it a shot since you seem to know quite a bit on the topic. Thanks Reggs.

i have a permanent five o' clock shadow a la fred flinstone, homer simpson, and george clooney--no matter how close i shave.

i say embrace it. it is manly. chicks dig it. and people can still tell when i've shaved or not, so i wouldn't say it looks unprofessional.
