Ordering contact lenses on-line???

Could anyone here recommend an on-line contact lens seller ?

Wondering if I need a prescription (I know which lenses I need).

Thanks as always.

I have ordered from 1-800-Contacts and the service was good. An up-to-date prescription is required. I ordered through my doctor's office last time because they had a better price.

1-800 Contacts

I used them in the past and always had a good experience. IIRC, you don't need a prescription so long as you know all the information required to tell them what lenses you need (base curve, etc.)
I only stopped using them because my opthamologist has contracted with a similarly-priced service that coordinates directly with his office so I don't need to update them about prescription changes, etc.

I use www.discountcontactlenses.com. Good, quick service, decnet prices. They require an up to date prescription.

Was going to recommened a good place online, but then remembered I'm in the UK, so wouldn't be much use to you! lol

Which reminds me... I seriously need to order some.

I have also had good experiences with 1-800 contacts as well. Be sure to look for their rebate deals if its available.

I use http://www.coastalcontacts.com/ and have had good luck with them. As long as you know what you want you can order without a prescription. That said, it is a good idea to get your eyes checked periodically because a real eye doctor (as opposed to a technician running machines) can spot all sorts of issues before they become problems.

I use them as well.

I do not recommend 1800Contacts... they scam you by implying that they are sending your order as soon as you place it ( plus the obvious time for packaging ). Then, after you have placed the order and paid they give you a new ship date which is MUCH further out... maybe up to 10 business days. This is after you may have selected to pay for FedEx shipping. In which case you are stuck with shipping charges that are pointless.

Sound like a bummer. You should press for a refund on the FedEx shipping.
Not my experience with them - I've usually been pleasantly surprised by the speed of delievery (that is, they usually come more quickly than they suggest for whatever their "regular" or default shipping option is).
YMMV, obviousy.
