Well I got something to report - I special ordered (and pair for) a pair of Levi's Made & Crafted chino's way back in March which arrived today. When I went to pick them up today and I noticed a sign saying Levi's Made & Crafted was 30% off for this weekend only - I asked if they would give me the discount even though I ordered and paid for it weeks ago - the sales associate said he would bend the rules and give me store credit, but he'd get in trouble for giving me a refund since the sign clearly said "No price adjustments on previous purchases."

Naturally I couldn't pass this up - so I picked up a few pairs of socks. At first I only picked up 3 pairs which was almost exactly the amount I saved - so it wouldn't have a net purchase - but when the guy rang them up, I was still $4 short, and he couldn't give me any kind of refund. After milling around some more, I picked up another pair of Paul Smith socks - and ended up paying an extra $30. So I guess I broke the rules - but sometimes you gotta spend money to save money. happy.gif

I figure now that I've done the crime and am about to do the time - I may as well let you revel in my sin. So here's some pics!

Donate a pair of socks. You gotta show the other people how it's done.

I admire your honesty, and you are correct; you broke the rules and this wasn't an emergency. Cough*nicehaulthough*cough.
Choose a number between 1 & 6 but you can't choose 2 because Dig has that one....hasn't reported in on that either, now that I come to think of it...

Private Orwell, how are you holding up over there?
If you see any NPC members talk about spending in other threads, let us know about it.
We should have some Thought Crime punishments just for mentioning spending.
I'm open to suggestions.

We are now entering the first weekend of the challenge.
Hope everyone stays strong. I am spend-free over here and leather lotioning all of my shoes...all 150 pairs of them.

Punishment 4 (Click to show)
You will give one foot and back massage to your partner to their satisfaction.
Then you will do one load of whatever hand-washing they need done.
In which order you do these 2 tasks is up to you. Have fun.

Need a ruling MOL, my lovely bride picked 2 pairs of my pants from the tailor yesterday. This was not a request on my part as I could have waited until May, tropical wools that I won't be wearing yet. Total was $50, so within the bounds of my "emergency" fund.

As penance I did shine two pairs of shoes while watching some NCAA basketball last night.

Glad to read you are polishing shoes, and everyone is encouraged to do maintenance on their clothing and accessories.
The emergency fund is only to be used in the event of an actual emergency. This would be to serve a sudden need that cannot be fulfilled any other way. In your case, afore-mentioned lovely wife and yourself had a miscommunication. As you stated, it could have waited until May, so it wasn't an emergency. Therefore, technically, you messed up and need to be straightened out.
Choose one of the following numbers: 1, 3, 5, 6

Much time spent at work since last report. First laundry op won't happen until Wednesday this.

I need a haircut. Does that count against the cap space?
