Third thumb right here.

Edit: Out of context - that sounds creepy

At this point I'd say its possible to make it without an emergency fund. Haven't always needed it when I've joined NPC in the past, but you never know. Some twit spills coffee on your strides and you want to take them to the cleaners ASAP before the stains set in.

Anyway thanks for the support fellas. 1 day down, 29 to go, that just four weeks come tomorrow. That sounds easier!

So it seems like you are just requesting an exception to the late registers not being granted an emergency fund. In this case, I'm giving you a thumb.

Also, MoL you mentioned in TransMo about writing some articles for the StyFo front page. Would they be concerning sartorial frugality? I'd definitely read those.

If you need the emergency fund, make a plea and ask for 3 thumbs up and you get clearance.

Ianiceman, congratulations, you have friends here. Best of luck this month.

We will take latecomers for another 3 hours. Anyone after that plays the home game.

I need a ruling. On Monday April first I was in a Value Village, shopping for shirts for my unemployed brother-in-law. He is one size larger than me in all measurements. I happened across a deadstock Brooks Brothers Italian cotton sport shirt in medium. I would normally wear a small in this type of shirt. It looked like it would serve him well and I copped it on sale for $5.

When I got home, I put it on for the women in the house to show them what I'd be sending him. I was immediately informed that it would be too short in the sleeves for him and that I should keep it. In my opinion it's a bit big on me but just slightly. I have no one else on my donation list that it will fit as they are all XL or larger.

If I keep it but swear to not wear it in April am I in or out? I had no way of knowing since an accurate fitting couldn't take place until after the shirt had been purchased and brought home

Dig you have two options:
1) Return it, exchange it for something that will fit him, or obtain credit note from Value Villiage.
2) Keeping the shirt for yourself will mean failure to comply with NPC rules and you'll have to submit to a punishment in order to complete this month. If you choose shirt and punishment, give me a number from 1 to 6.

I'm pretty sure there's a no return/exchange policy at this location and I was there unexpectedly. It's a bit of a hike usually but business took me out that way.

I'll take ((((the square root of 4,052,169 X 2) - 26) / 4000) X 6) / 3.

Pretty sure that all worked out to "2".

Explain to them about the NPC and see if they take the return.

I think that should be one of the punishments by the way. Give away whatever you purchased to someone and explain the reason why you are giving it away (I did this when I had to buy shoe polish and a brush in late November; I gave it away to a coworker and got a very strange look when I explained the circumstances).

It's $5 - isn't that covered under your $100 emergency fund?

I dunno. I rarely read the fine print.

I'm waiting for MoL to reveal what #2 is. I'm betting that public nudity is involved and if I'm right, I won't have to explain the NPC.

First rule of NPC is you don't talk about NPC.

True, but it wasn't an emergency, at least it was not stated as such. You guys would make good lawyers if you aren't already.

Alright, the wait is over. Thank you for the mathematical equation
Your new name here is Private Einstein.
Unbeknownst to you all, I whipped up half a dozen punishments before we started. I feel they are fair.
They were all pre-numbered in advance so I am not making this up as I go.

Punishment Number 2 is:
2)
You will do one load of someone elses laundry. This will include the dryer or ironing, whichever applies.
You will not tell them why you are offering. Hopefully, this will be for someone you live with but the choice is yours.

Have fun Dig. You may as well launder that new shirt with it.
