How do I get my hair like this?

My hair is slightly wavy, the only problem is if I part it, it looks like I have a bald spot because there is no volume at the roots, but I have a lot of hair. Here is how I want it.

I did read the book, he doesn't say much about his hair, more about the hair products.

Why don't you come up with something more original. Do what is right for your hairline and hair type.

Well, no, not really. Plus, the book and movie are different. I'm really looking for suggestions on what to do with the problem I have.

I think your best bet is to go into a good salon with that picture and ask them if/how they can do that. Hair advice doesn't work too well over the internet, unfortunately.

I guess you're right, thanks anyway. It'll be months before I step foot in a salon again, my hair hasn't reached that length yet.
