White Ressentiment, the Poster Child - Page 13

The Asian quotas benefit Asians more than anyone else.

The reason most (all) asians seek Ivy leagues and other prestigious universities in America is precisely because of that prestige brought on by an Anglo-saxon tradition expected to be found at the school.

In other words, I suspect if Harvard were to be turn 70% + Asian, it would lose its cachet as Asians see it.

So let me get this straight....

Asian students demonstrate more intelligence and aptitude in education, decide they want to nurture that intelligence and aptitude at Harvard, and then you have audacity to tell them you know what's in their best interest better than they do by denying individuals of their group on account of their peers' success?

I see a bunch of you nerds posting your SAT score. I got into my alma based solely on my bench press. Where are those numbers?

So based on my political opinions (mostly libertarian) and morality (very little) what would be my belief in these specific "scientific" matters?

Sucks to be an Asian. It's like being super-white. I don't want to hear any white people complaining about affirmative action anymore. My head will explode and you'll all be covered in rice and soy sauce.

That's such horse shit. See MIT and Berkeley. Asians know that better schools have more Asians in them. Growing up, all the other Chinese parents would whisper awful stuff when a white kid snuck his way into a study group. They would get worried he'd slow us down or make us lazy. "There goes the neighborhood . . ."

Excluding Asians makes perfect sense when you justify AA on the grounds of diversity, or, to put it another way, corrupt project is corrupt.

As the parent of a future college student, I find the entire University system to be sickening. The institutions are bloated, with the wrong goals and the wrong personnel. Khan Academy, here we come.

He did not put it very well but do you honestly think that the prestige attached to schools like Harvard and Yale is only because of the academics?
There are plenty of schools with equal or better academic standards that provide an equal or better education, yet those schools are barely known and have only a fraction of the global "juice" enjoyed by Harvard and Co.

The Anglo-Saxon tradition, and it's undertones of global power and Empire, are as much a part of the Harvard brand as SAT scores and all night study sessions.

Only if you follow a very flawed and misguided sense of diversity.

Jews make out like bandits under the current system. You are subject to the quota on whites, not Jews. Hence, it is relatively easier to get into school than it should be, if the rule is that people should only be expected to compete against their own racial/ethnic/cultural kind.

From my experience growing up, this is not very true for Asian Americans. It's all about the academics and what you reap from them in your professional life. Hence, there is much more respect for schools like MIT and Caltech than "lesser" Ivies like Cornell or Penn.

I don't think you guys are aware of how racist many Asian Americans are toward white people. Basically, they have all the same prejudicial thoughts about you being lazy, stupid, dirty, smelly, etc., that racist white people have about other minorities. I've never known Chinese Americans in my family or those I've grown up with to value associating with white people. In fact, there is only negative value. What they want is what rich, prosperous white people have. They don't want to be them or be near them.

So you hate us and look down at us but cry foul when you can't co-opt our education system and Anglo-Saxon traditions for your own, racist gain?

Does that pretty much sum it up?
