One man's hell is another man's heaven.

Weather you believe in heaven or hell, philosophically speaking what do you think of this?
It's been a while but whilst reading The Inferno by Dante Alighieri I remember that a recurring theme was that every person chooses their own hell.
My interpretation being that by choosing ones hell one would be comfortable there.
Say, if you loved war and to kill you would be placed in a section were there is ongoing war and endless death.

Thus I take it too mean that although it would be looked at as torture and hell to somebody who does not partake in such acts, to the "punished" it would seem quite comforting. They wouldn't be comfortable in any body's heaven or hell.

For example: I've reached a point were I can honestly say that the heaven that my parents, family, and preachers speak of does not appeal to me.
Endless singing of hymns and worship of God is not what I would want to do for the rest of eternity.

Anybody else feel this way? I'm hoping this can turn into a discussion to which we can bounce ideas off each other.

Heaven is a job well done and a beer at the close of business.
