Has anyone ever ordered from Mortar in Houston, Texas?

I bought something a week ago and haven't been able to get a reply from them. Their site is pretty barebones and nearly empty. They have a rep on styleforum but that account hasn't logged in since last year.

I've tried to contact them about an item and haven't received a reply, it's been a week or so.

Urgh.

Their phone just rang when I called... no answering machine.

They used to be an SF affiliate if I recall correctly. I've ordered from them when their webshop launched a while back, without any problems...

Recently ordered a pair of CP winter premiums last Sunday, expecting to get an inventory not updated - cancellation email shortly after since something is clearly wrong with the website. But yea, no replies to my emails asking for a status update and phone kept ringing when I tried calling Sat and Sun.

I ordered the same shoe. I actually posted that deal in the sales thread.

This is really worrying. I'd hate to have to go through the whole chargeback thing with my bank.

Their website says that their hours are Friday thru Sunday, 12pm-7pm. Doesn't look like the hours of a really healthy business.

Going to call in tomorrow. If I can't get a hold of them by next week I'm going to contact my credit card company.

I've been wondering the same thing. Ordered a pair of CPs a week ago and it still says "awaiting fulfillment". Email and phone call with no response...not looking good.

Are there any SF members near downtown Houston that could check out if this place still even exists? frown.gif

I drove past not that long ago and the place didn't seem shuttered or anything, but to be honest I didn't look that closely. I don't work in that area but if I'm close-by this week I'll make sure to check it out. I did notice that their twitter activity slowed down dramatically since last summer, FWIW

Mortar is going through a change right now. Sasha is still there but their store has not been open since the weekend before NBA All Star Weekend. Even then it was just for a few weekends. I would advise to just do a charge back. Last time I was in the whole crew was going overseas. Sasha is designing his own clothing line and said when he re-opens it would be when his clothing line was ready. That was projected for this month though.

I work down the street from there.

Thanks thenewjs... that's a real bummer. I'm going to try to get a hold of Sacha before cancelling.

Kind of shitty that he'd just leave the store's entire online presence unattended.

What did you order? There site is stocked from the floor. The item may be gone. The weekend I was in there he was having a fire sale.

I contacted one of Sacha's business associates asking if she could tip him off to the situation. Hopefully she helps. I just want my shoes or my money back frown.gif
