So i looked at macys site and saw this great sportscoat. Of course i waited a few days and now they ran out of my size 38R and only have 40R and up.

http://www1.macys.com/catalog/produc...Type=EverGreen

This sportscoat is called Tasso Elba 2-Button Navy and Tan Wool Pattern Sportcoat

Does anyone have this sportscoat in 38R to sell or know where to buy this sportcoat? This sportscoat looks so good but I cannot get my hands on it. Can I even ask Macys to order more 38R? I want this so much since I don't have any blazers.

Thanks.

I have to agree re: the price-value ratio problem. While the pattern is perfectly fine, the material, construction quality, and fit of this line leave me very unsatisfied.

I bought a Tasso Elba shirt once and it looked awful (worn & tatty) after a handful of washes. Make of that what you will.

Hmmm...not sure. Have you checked out Lord & Taylor? I was there recently and it looked like they had a really great selection...plus everyone was really helpful. Hope you find what you're looking for.

i only want a blazer/sportscoat to wear with jeans. Last time i bought a suit jacket by mistake and thought it was a blazer and people say you have to wear suit jacket with the matching pants or it looks tacky.

Would this look good with jeans? I want to wear this during the daytime too without people saying that I look like I am going to work. Does this give a good casual look like the Macy's one?

Also, to the last poster, do you notice this sportscoat at lord and taylor... i mean like extremely similar jacket to the one i want on macys. With the windowpane pattern and stuff?

Thanks.

How can anyone tell the difference?

Well my friend has a blazer. We went hanging out at night and he said it looks more like a suit. It's really a suit jacket. People on askmen forum says its inappropriate to wear a suit jacket with jeans.

I don't want to walk around wearing a suit jacket with jeans since people give me awkward glances like I don't know fashion. I just want to get it righ.

Probably the buttons. A quick switch to some quality brass buttons would convince most casual observers that it was a blazer.
I'm assuming we're talking about a navy suit jacket.

Would the link I have on the blazer (the ebay one) not the macy's one look like a blazer to you?

This post is out of control. Phatty, the Tasso Alba blazer is going to look 100 times worse in real life than it does on that model. I don't understand why you're pining over something you've never seen in real life. Go to Banana Republic or J. Crew and get one of their blazers when they go on sale. It will be more fashionable, better cut, and less expensive.

Well the model with that sportscoat macys one looks real good wouldn't you say? I mean, the 38R was sold out in a matter of 3 days when I was looking at other things. I have banana republic blazer and I don't really like the way it looks. So I thought this sportscoat would be much better since it is tan/navy. I looked at the J Crew site and found this great looking blazer http://www.jcrew.com/catalog/product...atId=cat170060 The color is midnight. Are blazers like this look better in black or midnight?

Sold out or not, point is, Tasso Elba quality is crap compared to what we discuss here. The pattern looks decent, but other than that, there's not much to like about it, especially at that price.
Seems like you still have a lot to learn about style (no offense; so do I). Do more research on what have already been written in this forum, you'll be able to make better purchase decisions in no time.

To me, not really, but YMMV. However, the difficulty is that even if you like the windowpane pattern, you have to judge best on drape, construction, fit, and fabric among other considerations and you cannot tell that purely from a photograph.

Most clothes look great in photoshoots -- the models are very attractive, have bodies that most everything looks good on, and are shot in perfect lighting; the clothes are pinned to give them a perfect shape, and the models pose in a way that masks any flaws in the clothing.
