Short Notice Interview--Caught With My Pants Down - Page 2

These kind of thread always gets me annoyed.

Absolutely nobody will notice or care about the slanted pockets. Flaps are perfectly normal on conservative suits, leave 'em be. Ticket pockets aren't normal, but it's a modest quirk that won't seriously change anybody's opinion of a suit.

I mean really folks, very, very few people in the real world even notice most of these details, and far fewer care. If he was wearing a black suit with a really bold white stripe, they would notice that. A charcoal suit with a slightly abnormal, but hardly unheard of pocket configuration? Nobody is going to care.

French cuffs aren't common in the US and are regarded here as a little flashy, so people might notice and care about that. I would notice but wouldn't care, since they're actually more formal and I enjoy them myself, but your interviewer is unknown.

Quick note on the tie: Great choice with the charcoal, but I'm not a big fan of navy ties with navy suits. If you go with the navy suit, I'd personally pick a different one.

You have a relatively conservative charcoal suit. You have a somewhat less conservative, but still entirely appropriate navy pinstripe. What are you worrying about? I opened this thread expecting the, "Interview tomorrow and I don't own a suit, what to do?" bit.

I've "accused" Quadcammer of being British before as well, when he didn't like the US usage of "oxford" vs. the British usage, and when he showed dislike for a saddle shoe I was considering purchasing. Apparently he is not British though, he is from NJ.
