Have browsed a little trying to find some cool ones myself, but  the layout and aestethics of hair-websites make me so mad laugh.gif

gonna try again though

If you're hair is straight or slightly wavy, a side parting or quiff in my opinion looks good, and versatile.

edit: by quiff I mean something like how Tobias Sorensen usually has his hair, not those old school super high volume ones.

KOY you should grow your hair out

smileforum: that's kinda what I have right now, but I have two cowlicks and my hair is just in general unruly, which is why it takes way too much time to get something that still only look "ok"

Have actually been thinking quite a bit about that, just wish I could get some beard first (which unfortunately isn't very likely since neither my dad nor my grandpas on either side have ever had any "real" beard)

I also saw your post about hair becoming uncontrollable a few pages back, you can try using a leave in conditioner that doesn't leave a greasy residue, and blow dry your hair from there in to place.

So, my hair looks perfect if i put gel in it, let it dry, and then get a full night's sleep.  I can't recreate this which is really annoying.  Anyone have any tips? You'd think just waiting til it dried then rubbing the gel out would work but it's not the same at all.

That's exactly what I use to do, but then it started to cause some problems for me because I have sensitive skin and the oils/products were irritating my face overnight. I heard that you can get a similar effect with a good blow dryer, but I'm not sure. Curious to find out as well.

I know what you guys mean; that "lived-in" look to use a cliche. I've found that messing with "sea spray" stuff gets me something similar; but YMMV.

On an unrelated note: I've been blow drying my hair for a while now and I've found I can get it to do things much more in tune with what I want. I just use a cheapo ~$20 dryer. What the hell difference does shelling out $100 and such increda-high amounts of $$$ on a blow dryer actually get you? As in, is there any difference in how healthy your hair is/ your ability to style it for that extra chunk of change? I find myself highly dubious.

I think I'm one of those Asians who's forever wondering when he has to stop spiking his hair and go with the dad side part. I don't think there's any other options.

Grow it long and wear it free, or put it in a knot. With some facial hair I think that looks killer, but it depends on what works for you.

Not acceptable for work and I don't grow facial hair in a way that looks good.

Where do you work that they restrict hairstyles? Finance? I'd find that really oppressive.

I'd just sleep on it for the authentic look but I go to the gym or yoga right after work almost always, so I usually shower before I go out anywhere.  I have a blowdryer, I'll fuck around with it.

Currently 6 months into growing my hair out an will probably be cutting it this weekend. I have to wear a hat literally everyday to work and getting pretty tired of it, such an akward phase.

The general Asian male's inability to grow facial hair is really annoying. I had a top knot for a while but it didn't feel right without any facial hair.

Yeah, i agree. One off the major reasons I don't think growing it out any further would be worthwhile.

Sucks, my dad has a lot of facial hair for an asian and so did my grandpa (they get 5'oclock shadow) but I barely have a hint of it and I'm already 23. Hoping by my mid-late 20's it'll start to develop full. Not going to lose hope!

Hello everyone! I tried to ask the same question in the "official" hair thread but didn't help, 'cause I got no reply.

Anyway here it goes:

How can I get a stereotypical mafia hairstyle? Either that or something like that or Michael Corleone Part 3 hairstyle?

What hair products? Pomade, gel, normal wax? Brylcream? How to tell the lady at the barber to cut it?
