There was some interest for SW&Ds own hair thread because most people seem to be scared to venture outside of the SW&D section.

So post here if you are looking to get a new haircut, have questions about which products to use etc. might aswell ask grooming questions here too.
Sorry I'm bad at writing openers. :embar:

i wish i could grow a cool beard. i have this same cycle every ~two months when i try to grow a beard for a week or two. i then look at myself in the mirror and realize that it looks like i have pubic hair on my face and give up. :( i guess im forced to rock the 5 o'clock shadow for the rest of my life.

my beard is awesome.

hair is.. a different story. i was thinning/receding badly until i started propecia, and now hair is back to normal. but it's fine an curly, which sucks. i also won't use product.

Interesting... Mine is receding but I don't know how I feel about propecia. I'm 24 and my hair line has receded in the classic 'Widow's peak' style. Not sure if propecia could repair that anyway!

On the plus site I can grow a cool beard. I keep it pretty short though.

Edit: Also, in regards to propecia, I'd be interested to see some before/after pics :D

Interesting, I've kinda got the same problem, expect my hair has never receded, I've just always had a really naturally high hairline. Like you, I also have really fine hair that starts to curl a bit whenever it gets ay sort of length and I never use product. What kind of styles do you think have worked the best for you?

I can never figure out what to do with my hair.. it looks really promising (but not quite as cool as I want) for a bit when it's growing out on top if I shave the sides and style it up, but then it gets too long/thick/curly on top and I look like a troll doll or some **** with shaved sides. Can never reach bows-level. Buzzed I look like a kid. And in between is just meh.

well, it looks ok with a lot of length in the front, but I keep it short all over with a tinnny bit of length in the front because I'm lazy and don't want to have to do anything other than towel dry it.

i don't have any pics of the propecia, and i don't know how noticable it'd be in photographs, but I notice a huge difference just handling my hair. a lot thicker throughout, and a lot more volume in the back.

it would definitely help anyone with MPB as long as you take it as soon as you see your hair start to thin. i take generic 5mg finasteride and split it, so it works out to about $5 a month.

I don't use product either, think it looks too "try-hard", but you could try some leave-in conditioner... I use Acure leave-in conditioner, which detangles, straightens and adds shine without looking or having your hair feel like you're using styling gel or whatever. Acure stuff is an all natural product, Whole Foods and Vit Cot carry it around here.

So basicallly, I have a traditional undercut. I have tons of thick black/dark brown hair, that can be resilient/crazy/curly sometimes......it's really just crazy thick. With that said, as far as being able to "slick" my hair back into position (as goes with the cut), the only product that has consistently worked for me every time is Murray's pomade, Considering it's only $3 a can, its incredibly cheap....but the stuff is uber gunky/sticky and I have to wash my hands literally 2-3 times over with dish soap to even get it off. The smell I don't necessarily mind, although it would be nice to have a nice scented product.

I'm pretty sure with my hair profile, pomade is the way to go.I have considered brille cream, but I'm not sure if its going to be strong enough to hold my hair in position.

Thoughts?

I put product in my hair every day and people are surprised when they find out I use product.. it's pretty easy if you don't overdo it
