Haven't had a chance to try Japanese whiskey. What do you think of the yamazaki?

Connosr.com is a great resource for all things whiskey.

the yamazaki is a very easy-drinking, mellow whiskey with floral, honey, and citrusy notes. it's definitely nothing mindblowing, but it goes down easy and tastes pretty good. i haven't found a peaty japanese whiskey, but i haven't been able to have the rarer ones either. though to be honest, i'm not particularly big on peats.... yet....foo.gif

Consider me an interested party. I know zilch about Italian wine beyond Barolos are bold and my brother likes dropping insane amounts on them.

I've had the 18 and it was nice. But, there are many others to try :-)

Oh shit. Gotta get back when not just on my phone.

Props to the excellent start to this thread.

Also: Fee Brothers for bitters. But always have Agnostura on hand.

Anyone like amaros (Cynar, Averna, etc)? Really digging Averna chilled, neat right now as a nightcap.

I don't know shit about alcohol (I've a really, really limited palate), but I once had some Glenlivet 12 whiskey. It was really nice.

And JWB is also pretty good too. That's all I'm capable of contributing. shog[1].gif

how does one secure a bottle of pappy 23? serious question
post #57 of 369
Auctions probably? There's a handful of places that I can think of that might be able to source some for me, but it wouldn't be cheap (haven't seen any under $200 in a long time).
