As I posted on the EG thread:

Another cool comparison. If you're giving them away, I'll take the Alderley, please. ;-) A very classy country boot indeed (though both the Galway and Nevis tug my heart strings a little harder from the EG stable).

Out of my own pocket, the Carmina plays a very strong hand in value, and I love how chromexcel ages with hard use. I have beat hard on a pair of Chromexcel AE Bayfields for three winters and numerous hunting / hiking / camping trips and I swear they look better now than when they were brand new.

I could get away with those in 90% of the situations I'm in (and one keeps a pair of black shoes handy for the other 10%)  without worrying about the random rain fits that Boston and London seem to have.

Thank you gentlemen for your thoughts on our boots.

The medallion punching on Carmina's is always a letdown versus the rest of the shoe.

Round 1 of new Carmina arrivals.  Ghillie shoe on Rayder last.  Brown calf and grey suede.  Double monk on Simpson last.  Brown calf and grey suede.

Unique and inspired choices - bravo!

What great-looking models!  In the Alden boots - is that captoe boot lady calf throughout except for the captoe piece which is smooth black calf leather?  Inspired!

The Carminas look great, but I echo that, at least on my computer screen, the suede looks more beige than grey.

Excellent make-ups.
