Tie color to go with my light grey suit.

Thread Starter

Hi, I am 18yrs old and my sister is getting married.

I have already bought every part of my clothing but my tie doesn't seem to match with suit and shoes.

The items I have bought are listed below.

SHOES: (Simmilar)

http://www.topman.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&langId=-1&storeId=12555&catalogId=33056&parent_categoryId=207282&categoryId=207294&productId=4335663

SUIT:

TIE:

http://www.next.co.uk/x512438s2

SHIRT: Plain white

My question is what color tie should I go for?

Or maybe should I change something else?

Thanks

Navy blue tie.

I concur with navy. I think purple might make for an interesting one as well and perhaps a light blue for a spring or summer wedding.

Gray is pretty versatile and I think it'll work with most tie colors other than perhaps a strong red.

google search grey suits, click on images, pick out which tie you think looks best. Grey is pretty easy to match to most colors

and simply look around you in the streets to see what others are doing. I'd dump the shoes, they look hideous.

I would go with a purple tie with white polka dots...

If you're dark-haired: solid tie in some dark shade of grey, blue or brown.
If you're fair-haired: solid tie in some medium-to-light tint of grey, blue or brown.

And no shine, please!

Don't wear that tie. Lavender and Burgundy are both nice colors, but don't wear that tie.

I was thinking about changing the shoes.

Maybe something like this or even lighter?

What do you guys think?

Maybe someone has some specific suggestions for the shoes?

Also I was thinking of getting a pure white pocket square with a light grey tie, would that work ?

Also I am blonde, with tanned skin.

I really like pale pink with light grey.

Why are you shopping for shoes at Topman? confused.gif

For inexpensive, serviceable shoes, I would look into these ones from Herring Shoes:
