I posted this at sufu and didnt get a good response...

I found this old Navy bomber jacket my grandfather wore while flying over Japan in WWII. It fits perfectly but the leather is in dire need of restoration. It also has a tear on the upper right chest.

Does anyone have any ideas where I can send this? I'd pay good money to have it restored...

Braid,

Aside from googling some "leather repair specialist," I'd be tempted to check out WWII magazines/forums/etc. They would have people who know what they're dealing with and probably how to repair it.

I really wish I had stuff left over from the time my grandfather spent in Hawaii prior to WWII.

That jacket is many kinds of nice.

Any idea on the sizing of opening ceremony shoes such as the patent leather "dress" shoes? Compared to chucks would be lovely

well, if you really want my master opinion, i've never been a huge fan of russells. That said, I don't find those to be too distastful and a welcome change to the desert boots that have been so prevalent lately.

OK Sensei.

I'm smitten with the wwii impressions "boondockers," but I don't know if I can pull them off with my current style.

Thanks for the advice.
