can anyone tell me how trovata button downs fit in comparison to tim hamilton ones? i have a tim hamilton button down in S and its a little too narrow in the shoulders. will i encounter this with trovatas? i also have a fair number of theory shirts, all in S, which fit me quite well (just a tad too much fabric at the back) but shoulder and arm length wise theyre perfect.

If you can't get an answer here try reposting your question in this thread. That City Connection guy might be able to help you out.

I think of tie bars as being either dated or at least mildy ironic. If it's a serious party or you're trying to make a good impression on someone, I'd ditch it. If it's a frat party or something, go ahead.

Refers to the lower front of a jacket. Open quarters means the jacket cuts away below the bottom button, leaving a larger inverted V when the jacket is buttoned; closed quarters cover more.

Depends on how much fabric there is in the waist; some pants can. But most pants that need to be altered that much in the waist will have difficult-to-fix issues elsewhere and/or may come out looking unbalanced.

Just got a pair of APC Original Standards. I thought they didn't exist anymore. Does this mean the ones I bought are really old? (they are new, I just mean sitting around in some warehouse somewhere).

What round-toed boots (preferably less than $200) go with these jawns (Somet 003)?

I wanted to try Doc Martens but I've been told I'm not punk rock/day labourer enough to pull them off or that I would look too much like a dude due to the combo of boots + straight legged pants. And yes those are hips, I am a woman.

So, why are there white stitches on the pockets, the lapels and so on, on this jacket ( - is it for a "stylish" look, a tailored look or is there another reason behind?

Can anyone help me out with canada goose sizing on the constable? Only thing I can find to try on is an expedition in small which was quite big on me but I don't want to order an xs and have it still be too big or small.
